National Bird Control Specialist - Birmingham-Derbyshire-Leicestershire -City Facilities Management

Location: Birmingham/Derbyshire/Leicestershire area as base. Travel on a daily basis and stay away from home 4 nights a week unless working local to base

 Salary: £31,538.49 basic

 Full Time and Permanent - 43 hours per week plus potential overtime

 Fully equipped vehicle, pension, mobile phone, iPad, uniform

 33 days holiday a year (including bank holidays)

 Accommodation and meals paid

 Our client is ‘City Facilities Management’, they employ over 12,000 people with an impressive client base, which includes the total Facilities Management contract with the national Supermarket retailer ‘ASDA’.

They are now looking to recruit a National Bird Control Specialist to join their Pest Control Department to work on the ‘ASDA’ contract.

 Role will involve daily and national travel and candidates must be prepared to be away from home on average 4 nights a week, all accommodation costs will be covered.

Our client is looking for someone based in the Birmingham, Leicestershire, Derbyshire regions.

 Job Purpose:

 Carry out all methods of humane bird control, monitoring and maintaining a pest

free environment.

  • To carry out treatments and service pest proofing equipment to maintain continuing control of the pests covered throughout the ASDA stores or distribution centres.
  • To identify any instances where ASDA's pest bird control is incomplete or inadequate by virtue of actual or risk of infestation and advise the Manager on site accordingly
  • Flying birds of prey at designated stores to control pest bird activity

 Duties and Responsibilities:

 Inspect stores thoroughly for any signs of pest bird activity.

  • Ensure all legislative Laws are adhered to in the controlling of the pest bird activity.
  • Carry out all other forms of bird control including trapping, bird scaring, controlled shooting, flying kites, implementing / repairing various forms of proofing.
  • Manage the Bird Specialist Mate.
  • Fly birds of prey at previously agreed stores.
  • Be responsible for the bird’s well-being and upkeep to the highest of standards.

 Experience Required:

 Preferably previous experience in pest control.

  • Able to carry out all methods of bird control.
  • Able to travel nationally and able to spend 4 nights away per week.
  • Good knowledge of Laws and Legislations relating to the vacancy.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate customers’ requirements.
  • Candidates must have a full and valid driving licence.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in the handling and flying of birds of prey.
