We are looking for a passionate Learning and Development Manager to join our team and drive the learning strategy.

In this a newly created Learning & Development role, you will spearhead the development, delivery, and evaluation of robust learning programs for field technicians, compliance professionals, operational staff and management teams within the pest control and Legionella brands at Orkin UK. You will collaborate across all departments to ensure our people are continuously growing, accredited, and delivering services to the highest industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Training Needs Assessment
• Identify knowledge and skills gaps across technical, compliance, and support roles
• Partner with all departments to align training with operational and legal standards
• Use audit outcomes, performance metrics, and employee feedback to target key areas for upskilling.

Program Design & Development

• Design engaging, compliant, and industry-relevant training for both new starters and experienced professionals
• Create blended learning resources, including e-learning, toolbox talks, on-the-job assessments, and practical sessions
• Ensure training meets British Standards, HSE guidance, and relevant accreditation bodies.

Delivery & Facilitation

• Lead internal training sessions and support external trainers
• Support technician certification, refresher training, and cross-skilling initiatives
• Oversee induction and CPD frameworks to ensure staff meet competency and compliance requirements.

Evaluation & Compliance

• Measure training effectiveness using feedback, audit scores, and service performance
• Maintain accurate training records for regulatory inspections and audits
• Provide senior leadership with insight into learning outcomes and improvement opportunities.

Learning Technology

• Manage and enhance our Learning Management System (LMS) for remote and in-field accessibility
• Ensure mobile-friendly access to learning for operational teams
• Innovate with digital tools to support practical, just-in-time learning.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in L&D management within a technical, compliance-heavy, or field-based environment
• Strong understanding of adult learning principles and compliance-driven training
• Familiar with UK regulations related to pest control, water hygiene, and health and safety
• Confident delivering both classroom and virtual training
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration skills
• CIPD L5 or L7, or equivalent learning & development qualification
• Knowledge of industry certifications highly desirable.
