The award-winning green services group, which has established an enviable national footprint since it started trading on 1 April 2008, has now completed its 45th successful acquisition.

The purchase of the Birmingham-based pest control business will allow Nurture Group to consolidate its position as one of the leading providers in the UK pest control market and extend its national reach.

Founded in 2000 by Stephen and Ruth Hurley, Midland Pest Control has emerged as a leading regional player in the pest control industry.

With a commitment to delivering high-quality, flexible customer services, the company has established a strong reputation underpinned by the expertise of its three highly experienced pest technicians.

Midland Pest Control specialises in pest control identification, treatment, and prevention solutions for both commercial and domestic premises, addressing a wide range of pest infestations including rodents, insects, and birds.

Midland serves a diverse range of clients spanning facilities management, property management, hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, warehousing, offices, retail, vehicle hire and industrial.

Commenting on the company’s acquisition, co-founder of Midland Pest Control, Steve Hurley, said “We have long admired Nurture’s outstanding reputation for operational excellence in pest control and more broadly in green services, so to be part of this group is an exciting move for us.”

With its head office in St Paul’s Square near Birmingham’s famed jewellery quarter, Midland Pest Control shares Nurture’s commitment to environmental best practice and is committed to protecting the environment by maximising sustainable practices with its pest control activities.

The company uses environmentally safe and sustainable energy sources wherever possible, and has introduced robust and sustainable waste management policies, recycling materials, aiming to minimise waste, and disposing of it through safe and responsible methods.

Together, Nurture is poised to making meaningful strides in delivering pest control services that prioritise both the well-being of their clients and the health of the planet.

Chris Evans, chief operating officer for Nurture’s pest control services, described the deal as ‘a great way to kick start 2024’.

He continued: “By welcoming Midland Pest Control into our family, we aim to strengthen our regional reach and enhance our reputation as a leading force in the industry.

"With shared values of quality, professionalism, and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction, this collaboration not only reinforces our expertise but also allows us to offer a diverse range of pest control solutions to our clients in Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and the Midlands region.”

Peter Fane, Nurture Group founder and executive chairman, added: “We are delighted to have acquired a solid well-run business with high levels of service quality operating across the Midlands.

"This acquisition is part of our broader strategy to build national scale in each of our verticals, generating cost synergies, and improving the density of our operations and underpinning our ability to compete strongly.

“Midland Pest Control has a strong order book and has seen a high value pipeline throughout 2023 and this will allow us the opportunity to cross sell pest control services into our established Midlands grounds maintenance and plant display operations. 2024 is going to be a strong year for Nurture, the foundations of which are seen in this deal.”
