Managing pest control contracts

This course is designed for business owners, contract managers or anyone who wants to learn more about this key aspect of the pest control sector.

Contract management is an important area of pest management. This training aims to provide candidates with the skills, guidance and knowledge to administer contracts and manage contract risks, work effectively with your customers and improve overall performance.

Overview

Upon completion of this one-day course, candidates will understand:

  • How to identify the need for a pest control contract
  • The different types of tender opportunities
  • How to put together a model contract
  • The legislative impacts of contracts
  • The key elements of a pest control tender
  • How to monitor performance
  • The importance of action plans.

While not mandatory, we advise that to get the most out of this course, delegates have some experience in the pest control industry.

Delivery

This is a one-day virtual classroom course, 9.30 am - 4 pm.

The course will use a mix of presentations and interactive sessions.

The course will be delivered as an online classroom training course using the Zoom platform.  As in a classroom environment, candidates will be encouraged to engage in discussions, share experiences and ask questions.

There will be regular breaks throughout the day. Please take advantage of these breaks to move away from your device and move around a little as this will help you maintain focus throughout the day.

To take part in the session, you will need:

• Computer, laptop or tablet
• Internet connection.

Please note: Smartphones will work, however the session is not optimised for very small screens.

Slides from the training will NOT be available so please ensure that you have pens and paper to enable you to take your own notes.

Assessments

There is no assessment for this course.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a BPCA Certificate of Completion in Managing Pest Control Contracts.

If you are on BPCA Registered you will earn 6 CPD points for completing the course.

If you are on Basis Prompt, you will receive TBC CPD points for completing the course.

Course cancellations will only be accepted on receipt of written instruction and are effective from the date received by the BPCA.

KevinHiggins

Kevin has had a significant impact on the pest management sector, having held positions as BPCA President on the Executive Board, as a committee member and on the staff team at BPCA as Membership Manager.

He now works as a consultant within the sector, focussing on supporting established businesses and start-up companies with business management strategies.
