About the position

Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, the Commercial Manager is responsible for managing defined household insecticide customer accounts across Europe.

The role holder will be responsible for working with customers to implement the SCUK BPR Solutions initiative with customers. This will involve developing close working relationships with defined customers and being the first point of contact for customer enquires across sales, technical and regulatory topics.

In addition, the role holder will be responsible for assisting the set-up of a technology driven account management process and will lead the development of business cases for new products.

In particular, the selected candidate must:

  • Deliver sales growth from defined European customers, monitoring customer performance, along with identifying new customers and sales opportunities
  • Support the implementation of the SCUK BPR Solutions offer; this includes directly managing customers through the onboarding process, ensuring high adoption of the SCUK offer
  • Develop close working relationships with customers, acting as the key customer contact point for the customer’s purchasing, technical and regulatory staff
  • Develop and maintain deep knowledge of the HHI market in Europe
  • Understand customer needs, monitor competitor activities, and provide insights and information on market trends
  • Provide input for NPD process. Lead business case development for defined NPD projects
  • Manage internal processes related to defined customers, such as CRM data management, monitoring credit limits, sales performance, sales forecasting, and annual price reviews
  • Negotiate necessary agreements for specified customers.

Location

Preferably Spain (Barcelona), or London Office (W6).

Skills and experience

  • Proven track record of delivering the key accountabilities described above in a multinational organization operating in a highly regulated B2B market environment
  • Experience working in the European pest management or related industry – particularly managing sales in a B2B regulated environment
  • Ability to think logically, solve problems and follow through on agreed actions
  • A working understanding the EU Biocidal Products Regulations and the impact of these regulations on the future of the household insecticide market in Europe is highly desirable
  • Undergraduate or advanced degree in business or related scientific discipline is highly desirable
  • Must have well developed commercial acumen
  • Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A flexible attitude with the ability and willingness to take on a varied role and be held accountable
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – able to work in a small team, and to quickly build good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly flexible, culturally adaptable and objective-driven
  • Must have excellent English language skills - proficiency in other European language(s) highly valued
  • Highest ethical standards
  • Lead by example
  • Willingness to travel (25%-40% of the time)
  • Have right to work in the country they will work (either UK or Spain)
  • Outstanding references.
