 Technician

  • To provide pest prevention services to a wide customer base, both commercial and domestic.
  • The pest species that NPC deal with covers, rodents, birds and insects.
  • You would carry out routine inspections to sites and advise on hygiene, housekeeping and proofing issues to help reduce the risk of pest activity as well as carry out control programmes.
  • The role involves report writing and communicating directly with customers.
  • The role also incudes a degree of planning to ensure that you are able to service our customers effectively and on time.
  • There will be an element of study (in your own time) as this is a responsible position that requires an understanding of Health and Safety, Legislation and Pest Biology.
  • To achieve the RSPH level 2 qualification you would need to attend a 1 week residential course with an examination at the end of this week. This qualification is a requirement of the industry governing body (British Pest Control Association) and should be passed within the first 18 months of employment.

Technical Inspector

You would be working towards gaining the experience within the industry to then move on to carrying out Technical Inspections to our “Premguard” customers.

These inspections are in depth and involve typed reports, looking in more detail at the site, any pest issues, proofing, hygiene and housekeeping issues (Integrated Pest Management) and liaising with the site contact. You would be supporting the NPC Technician when there are pest problems and implementing control strategies.

You would also need to be able to analyse the information in the report folders to identify trends and make recommendations.

The role also involves carrying out Quality Assurance checks on the work provided by NPC and updating necessary documentation where required.

This is a very interesting and varied role that offers unique challenges within the pest control industry and may lead to the role of Field Biologist
