Hybrid training options now available for Field Biologist course

Our next training session for Becoming a Field Biologist will now be available to take either in-person or remotely.

When Covid-19 put a temporary hold on in-person training programmes, BPCA began developing an online classroom offering so that pest management professionals could continue their development in spite of the pandemic.

That offering grew and we now have a range of online classroom courses available for pest professionals.

These virtual classrooms mix a live speaker with the same interaction you would get from real life classroom learning. You can still ask questions, take polls and talk to other learners.

More recently the country began to open up again; lockdown was lifted and in-person events and meetings were permitted once more. However, we've continued to offer online classroom courses, adding more to the calendar all the time.

Now we are taking our training one step further by offering hybrid courses which provide the best of all worlds. By making use of the latest technology, we can offer learners the choice of either attending in person or joining remotely, whilst still being able to interact and share experiences with other learners and having direct access to our market-leading tutors.

"While the world has started to open up again, and we very much want to take advantage of the opportunities that provides, we also feel it's important to continue to embrace technology, offering flexibility to our learners and enabling our training to be accessible, affordable and relevant," says BPCA Training and Development Manager, Karen Dawes.

"We're going to continue to invest in training options which both cater for people who enjoy learning in a real classroom environment and for those who find it suits them better to learn from home."

About the training

Course: Becoming a Field Biologist
When: 15 November 2021
Where: Online OR BPCA Academy, Yarnfield, Staffs

The course runs from 9.00am to 4.30pm and will use a mix of presentations and interactive sessions.

Learners who attend the training at the BPCA Academy will be provided with lunch and refreshments as part of the course cost. Learners who attend remotely will be given the same breaks but will need to provide their own refreshments.

Learners who attend remotely will be provided with a link and instructions on how to join the training. To take part remotely you will need:

  • A computer, laptop or tablet
  • An internet connection.

Smartphones will also work, however the session is not optimised for very small screens. For those attending remotely, you will need to have your camera and microphone activated during the training course.

All learners will have access to the course tutor for any questions or enquiries during the training.
