This online course provides awareness level introduction to the dangers of working with asbestos and helps employers to comply with the law by ensuring that their employees are appropriately trained in order to work safely.

Overview

It is important to note that this training is NOT meant for people who carry out work that will disturb asbestos as this requires specialist practical training.

Upon completion of the one-hour course, candidates will understand:

  • Legal responsibilities of employers and employees
  • The different diseases associated with asbestos
  • Your responsibilities relating to asbestos
  • What to do if you discover asbestos
  • The risks of exposure to asbestos
  • How to protect yourself against exposure.

The asbestos awareness course is designed for anyone who needs to understand what asbestos is and what is generally required by law, including pest control technicians, technical inspectors, field biologists, managers, directors and owners.
