Upon completion of the one hour online Manual Handling course, candidates will understand:
- What to consider before moving objects or loads
- Legal responsibilities of employers and employees
- The risks associated with manual handling
- How to safely lift or move objects or loads
- Different types of mechanical aids
- How to safely lift or move objects as a team.
The Manual Handling course is aimed at employees at all levels who may need to move objects or loads.
This is usually anyone who works within your organisation, including pest control technicians, technical inspectors, field biologists, support staff, managers, directors and owners.
The course will use a mix of presentation slides, videos and assessments and will include modules on:
- Manual handling hierarchy
- Legislation and regulation
- Injuries
- The spine
- 5 steps to a safer lift
- Position and postureMechanical lifting aids
- Team lifting.

There is no assessment or prerequisites for this course.
Upon completing the course, candidates will receive a BPCA Certificate of Completion in Manual Handling. You will be able to print this certificate online.
The course fee will give you access to this course on our eLearning centre for four weeks.
