This course is aimed at people who are planning to undertake the RSPH Level 2 Vertebrate Module, and wish to prepare their knowledge of rodent biology and behaviours.

Overview
The course will cover the main rodent pest species that pest technicians are most likely to encounter.
The course will use a mix of presentation, breakout sessions and interactive discussions.
Upon completion of this half-day course you will:
• Be able to identify of a range of common public health rodent pests including black rat, brown rat, house mouse, field/wood mouse
• Understand the driving factors behind rodent behaviour and biology in relation to pest management.

Delivery
This is a half-day virtual classroom course,1pm - 4.30pm.
The course will use a mix of presentations and interactive sessions.
The course will be delivered as an online classroom training course using the Zoom platform. As in a classroom environment, candidates will be encouraged to engage in discussions, share experiences and ask questions.
There will be regular breaks throughout the day. Please take advantage of these breaks to move away from your device and move around a little as this will help you maintain focus throughout the day.
To take part in the session you will need:
• Computer, laptop or tablet
• Internet connection.
Please note: Smartphones will work, however the session is not optimised for very small screens.
Slides from the training will NOT be available so please ensure that you have pens and paper to enable you to take your own notes.

There is no assessment for this course.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive a BPCA Certificate of Completion in Fundamentals of Rodent Biology.
If you are on BPCA Registered you will earn 3.5 CPD points for completing the course.
If you are on Basis Prompt, you will receive TBC CPD points for completing the course.
