Simon Forrester to leave as BPCA Chief Executive

After a hugely successful tenure as chief executive of the British Pest Control Association, Simon Forrester will be leaving his role with the association, in January of next year.

BPCA will now be looking for a replacement to continue to drive forward the association’s industry-leading agenda, working with the full membership, the leadership team and staff.

Tom Holmes, BPCA President, said:

“Since his appointment seven and a half years ago Simon Forrester has had a transformational impact on BPCA.  During this time, he has led a forward-thinking and committed team from the front, to deliver the innovation, diversification and growth which has turned BPCA into the leading national trade body for pest control in the UK.

"At the time of his appointment, Simon was tasked with taking the BPCA in a new direction, providing fresh impetus and increasing its effectiveness as a commercial organisation.

"Simon now feels he has achieved these goals and the time is right for him to hand over the reins to a new chief executive to take the association even further. Clearly, we are extremely sorry to see Simon go, but we wish him well in his new leadership role.

“Simon’s legacy leaves BPCA in an industry-leading position, along with a highly respected staff team, an attractive position as we seek out his replacement. We will recruit a highly-talented chief executive to lead BPCA into a new era and continue working with our highly-valued team to add another exciting chapter to the association’s ongoing success story.”

Simon will be leaving BPCA to take up the position of chief executive of a retail trade association.

He said:

“It’s been an incredibly difficult decision for me, as this has been such a rewarding role.

"However, I’ve always said the mark of my leadership being a success was that I would leave BPCA on the best of terms and in a position to attract a better candidate than me.

"I feel we have achieved a great deal, BPCA has moved forward significantly - and I am immensely proud of that.

"But now is the time for someone with fresh ideas to take the association to another level. I’d like to thank the staff team, Board and membership for their support in helping me to change the association and the wider industry for the better, and I wish BPCA continued success in the years ahead.”

Whilst we work to recruit a highly-talented CEO, to lead the association going forward, needless to say, we remain committed to working hard in the best interests of our Membership, and look forward to welcoming a new CEO to BPCA, in the New Year.
