The pest management show hosted the second ever British Pest Management Awards (BPMAs) last week, announcing the 2019 winners.

Held in the Technical theatre of PestEx, in the London ExCeL on 20 March 2019 the awards ceremony was hosted by television ecologist, Mike Dilger.

The British Pest Management Awards were created to celebrate excellence in pest management and recognise the invaluable contribution companies and individuals can make to our sector.

With more entries than before, and an impressive shortlist of entrants from across the UK, the industry-led judging panel had their work cut out for them picking this year’s winners.

Chair of the BPMA Judging panel, Kevin Higgins, presented three awards

The panel judged entrants based on a strict criterion and the evidence provided in the applications.

Nine winners and two highly-commended awards were presented to companies and individuals from around the UK.

Afterparty celebrations

The celebrations didn’t end after the awards were handed out.

Hundreds of award-winners, shortlisted companies, PestEx exhibitors and visitors descended on the Giant Robot on Canary Wharf for our first ever Afterparty.

The eccentric venue featured three themed bars, and four street-vendor style eateries.

The live cover band and a generous allocation of drinks tokens helped get people dancing and singing along.

Ian Andrew, BPCA Chief Exec, said:

“Everyone deserved to have a drink and a dance to unwind after a busy day at PestEx, and celebrate the achievements of the award-winners.

“It was a fun, noisy evening, full of delicious food and good drinks – about as far away from a formal dinner as you can get.

“Maybe next time we’ll look at doing a formal sit-down dinner, but I’d be surprised if this was the last BPCA Afterparty”.

WHAT NEXT?

It’s not been decided yet whether we’ll be having a 2020 British Pest Management Awards or if the award will return in with PestEx in 2021.
