The company offers independent pest audits, field biologist visits, training, problem solving and expert advice.

Introducing his new consultancy, Grahame said: “Public health pest control is a complex and highly-skilled profession. There are multitudes of pest species, each one with a different biology and behaviour, along with hundreds of different pest management techniques, products and devices.

"I am fascinated by pests; I have learnt a huge amount about them over the years, and like every active pest controller, I’m still learning every day. My aim is to share my knowledge, ideas and enthusiasm for pest management.

“PestAcuity will provide first class support to both pest control users and providers. Clients can become confident in the understanding of their pests, the prevention of infestations and the solution to each pest challenge. Reports provided will be analytical, constructive, impartial and clear.”

With a career in the industry spanning over 30 years, Grahame started out working as a production manager for a Heinz subsidiary, then switched to pest insect breeding research for Wellcome Environmental Health, before a spell as a pest control technician with National Pest Control.

He then worked as a pest consultant for ADAS training pest control technicians, undertaking field biologist audits for a diverse range of food businesses, and investigating problem infestations for multinational food companies, both in the UK and overseas.

Grahame spent several years inventing and developing innovative pest control products with Network Pest Control and then Pelsis following their acquisition of the Network brand from BASF.

Most recently he was Technical & Training Manager for Mitie Pest Control which became Terminix UK following acquisition by ServiceMaster.

Grahame has served as an Executive board member for British Pest Control Association.
