NHS Wales wants to hear from pest management businesses

MEMBER OPPORTUNITY

Pest management businesses across South and West Wales are being invited to help shape potential future NHS Wales pest management contracts.

NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership is carrying out early market engagement for pest management services covering Hywel Dda University Health Board and Swansea Bay University Health Board.

The organisation wants to hear from pest management companies of all sizes, including sole traders, family businesses, local SMEs and larger providers.

You don’t need to have worked with the NHS or the wider public sector before to take part.

Help shape future opportunities

At this stage, NHS Wales is looking to understand how the pest management market operates locally and what might make future opportunities more accessible to suppliers.

In particular, it wants to understand:

  • Which areas pest management businesses currently cover

  • How far businesses are willing to travel to deliver services

  • Whether smaller, more local opportunities might work better than larger contracts

  • What barriers might discourage businesses from working with organisations such as the NHS

  • How future contracts could better support local businesses and communities.

The feedback will help NHS Wales consider how any future procurement opportunity could be structured.

Complete the questionnaire

Businesses can complete a short pre-market engagement questionnaire covering their current operations and views on working with NHS Wales.

You can still take part in the online engagement event without completing the questionnaire, but responses will help NHS Wales focus the discussion on the issues that matter most to suppliers.

The Integrated Pest Management Service pre-market engagement questionnaire closes at 11:59pm on Thursday, 17 September 2026.

Join the online discussion

NHS Wales also expects to hold a virtual supplier engagement session during the week commencing 28 September 2026.

The session will give pest management businesses an opportunity to hear more about NHS Wales’ current thinking, ask questions and raise any practical issues that could affect their ability to bid for or deliver future work.

Businesses interested in receiving details of the virtual session should contact [email protected].

Why get involved?

This is early market engagement rather than a tender exercise. Taking part gives professional pest management businesses a chance to explain what would make a future opportunity practical and accessible before the procurement process is designed.

Whether you cover several counties or concentrate on a smaller local area, NHS Wales says it wants to hear from local providers.

For pest management businesses interested in public sector work, it’s an opportunity to make sure the realities of delivering professional pest management services are understood from the start.
