Sri-Lankan based Exterminators Ltd win Covid-19 award

BPCA Observer members Exterminators Ltd, based in Sri Lanka, won the Gold Award under the SME-Service Sector category at Restart Sri Lanka Resilience Awards 2020.

The event was jointly organized by the Prime Minister’s Office of Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM).

The Covid-19 pandemic resulted in new challenges across organizations. The SLIM Restart Resilience Awards 2020 was organized to recognize and reward the outstanding efforts of organizations which withstood and overcame the challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Exterminators decided that inorder to survive this unprecedented situation, the company needed to take some bold steps. Although it was a great risk, doing nothing was more of a greater risk. 

Exterminators ‘High Risk Covid-19’ team with eight specialized disinfectors working from an office, and five sales and operations staff working from home, began a brand new venture in Anti-Microbial Disinfection.

The services were provided countrywide even during curfew/lockdown periods to help the community to fight Covid-19 and companies all over Sri Lanka to get back to business.

Exterminators disinfected 71residential homes for elderly peolple, covering over 350,000 sq.ft. and travelling over 5,000 kms to help protect the senior citizens of Sri Lanka from Covid-19.

They also disinfected 30 police stations in Colombo & Kandy, protecting over 5,000 police personnel and helping the Sri Lanka Police to take on the battle against Covid-19.

Additionally, the team disinfected 15 religious places, numerous schools, railway stations, bus stations, underpass and South Asia’s world famous Lotus Tower area.

Since March 2020, Exterminators has increased salaries of all employees by 10-50% while the directors salaries were reduced by 40%, as well as four motorbikes which were donated to the High-Risk Covid team members.

Reduced prices by 5% for all contract and non-contract customers for a period of 12 months and special rates was offered to the hotel industry.
