CRRU rodenticide purchasing requirements – transitional arrangements deadline approaches

CPD

BPCA and CRRU-UK have agreed that transitional arrangements regarding rodenticide purchasing requirements will end in March 2026.

CRRUrodenticidepurchasingrequirements

As you’re already aware, anyone purchasing professional rodenticides must be able to show one of the following:

  • A CRRU-UK recognised training or qualification certificate dated within the last five years, OR
  • A training or qualification certificate that is more than five years old, PLUS evidence of completing CRRU-UK related CPD between 1 January and 31 December 2025.

Transitional arrangement for 2026 purchases

For this year only, there is a short grace period in place.

If you need to purchase rodenticides in 2026 but have not yet completed your 2025 CRRU-UK CPD, you have until 31 March 2026 to complete it. Your CPD points will be backdated to December 2025, and you will receive the appropriate certification.

However, this does not remove the need to complete additional CRRU-UK CPD in 2026 to remain compliant in 2027.

Accessing your CRRU-UK CPD

All BPCA Registered scheme users already have access to the required CRRU-UK 2025 CPD presentations via their online learning accounts (log-in required).

If you are completing CPD for 2025, you must inform BPCA by emailing [email protected] so that your points can be allocated to 2025 and the correct certificate issued.

Please note that if you have completed your CPD late, BPCA is unable to issue 2026 ID cards displaying the CRRU-UK logo, as the production deadline has now passed.

BPCA support for Registered members

Karen Dawes, BPCA Training and Professional Development Manager, said:

“We know compliance requirements can feel like another thing on a long to-do list, especially when you’re out on the road.

“Our priority is to make sure BPCA Registered members can continue to purchase professional rodenticides responsibly and without disruption.

The CRRU-UK CPD content is already available in your online learning account, and our team is here to help if you’re unsure what you need to do.

“The key thing is not to leave it until the last minute. If you’re in any doubt, get in touch, and we’ll talk you through it.”

BPCA encourages all Registered scheme users to review their CPD records now and ensure they meet the updated requirements well ahead of any purchasing deadlines.
