Meet Pest Minds at PestEx 2026

PRESS RELEASE

In an industry where people often work alone and under pressure, mental wellbeing can be overlooked - but Pest Minds is changing that with an innovative new initiative called Pest Minds Connections.

Designed specifically for pest professionals, this programme offers a supportive, anonymous peer-to-peer space where individuals can connect, talk, and be heard by someone who truly understands the realities of working in pest management.

Pest management is a demanding profession. Whether you’re a technician in the field, a team leader juggling operations and client expectations, or a sole trader managing all aspects of your business, the sense of isolation can be intense.

Recognising this, Pest Minds developed Pest Minds Connections to give pest professionals a confidential and anonymous way to reach out and connect with someone “who gets it”.

What is Pest Minds Connections?

At its core, Pest Minds Connections is a peer support platform where pest professionals can be matched with fellow volunteers from within the industry - known as Pest Minds Connectors.

These Connectors offer a listening ear, friendly conversation, and empathetic support through anonymous and private chat sessions hosted via a secure Discord server.

The process is simple: if you’re feeling isolated, stressed, or just want to share experiences with someone who understands the unique challenges of pest work, you can request a connection.

A Pest Minds admin matches you with a volunteer based on your preferences, and then you’re free to talk openly and confidentially.

The platform isn’t therapy - and Connectors aren’t trained clinicians - but it does provide genuine human connection, which can make all the difference on tough days.

Why it matters

Mental health initiatives tailored to trade professions are still rare, yet in pest control they’re increasingly necessary.

Long hours in the field, frequent decision-making under pressure, and the solitude of daily work can contribute to emotional fatigue and stress.

Pest Minds Connections directly addresses this by fostering a supportive environment where vulnerability and honesty are welcomed, not stigmatised.

This initiative is volunteer-led and community driven. People from within the pest management world step forward to become Connectors, offering their time and understanding simply to help others.

It’s a powerful reminder that the pest sector is not just about controlling rodents and insects - it’s also about caring for the people who do the work.

Meet Pest Minds at PestEx 2026

Excitingly, Pest Minds will be promoting Pest Minds Connections at this year’s PestEx pest industry trade show.

Trade shows like PestEx, which attract thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors from across the UK and beyond, are ideal forums for community-building and networking within the sector.

They bring together technicians, business leaders, suppliers, and innovators all under one roof.

By visiting the Pest Minds stand, attendees can learn firsthand about Pest Minds Connections, speak with its founder Anna Mollins, and explore how to get involved.

Get involved

If you’re attending the trade show, be sure to make time to visit Pest Minds.

Learn about the mission behind the Connections initiative, hear real stories from pest professionals, and take part in building a stronger, more connected pest management community.

It’s not only about enhancing technical knowledge and business insight - it’s about supporting each other as people.

As a Community Interest Company we are working hard to fundraise to support future projects that aim to further improve the mental wellbeing of the industry.
