Root cause analysis for pest technicians and field biologists

You've heard the phrase "root cause analysis", but what does it really mean and how can you make it work for you?

It can be argued that in pest management, root cause analysis (RCA) is the most critical element to achieving successful control of any pest species.

RCA is the process of investigating and establishing why a pest species is in the location where it has been reported. Finding the RCA will then increase, significantly the effectiveness and efficiency of any pest management programme.
