GP Environmental Ltd – Pest Control Technicians - Central Scotland/West Coast & Edinburgh based

Due to further continued expansion and internal promotion, our Pest Control Division is looking to recruit Pest Control Technicians to join our team in assisting with the continuous delivery of high quality, efficient, competitive and friendly pest control services to our clients, old and new.

With our main office based in Glasgow’s Westend, GP Environmental provides Pest Control Service primarily to central Scotland with additional contracts spanning from Dumfries to Aberdeen.

We pride ourselves on high quality, effective and competitive pest control treatments, as well as assisting in pest related biodiversity, ecology and environmental projects.

Job Specification and Requirements

  • Technician requires be qualified in BPCA / RSPH level 2 in Pest Management, or higher
  • Full Clean Drivers Licence required
  • Due to the security requirements of some of our clients, the applicant will require to produce a clean Disclosure Scotland Certificate (or equivalent). This can be applied for during the application process, with job offer pending on arrival of clean disclosure certificate.
  • Basic IT skills for report creation and use of smartphone (digital reporting system), however full and comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
  • Ideally some experience in rodent proofing and bird repellent installations, however training will be provided.
  • IPAF and PASMA - not essential but preferred for use in bird repellent installations.
  • Member of a CPD scheme

Responsibilities and Objectives

  • To carry out in-depth and detailed pest control service routines to clients premises and competently report on all findings and recommendations. This includes service to Special Reporting Sites – Sites which are M&S, Tesco and BRC compliant.
    To service moth pots, EFK units and other pest control areas during routines and report of findings and recommendations as required.
  • To liaise with clients at all levels in order to discuss their on going pest control requirements creating  a high quality and dynamic service.
  • The ability to spot potential issues, additional requirements and promote new works as opportunities arise.
  • To attend training sessions and collect CPD points
  • To be flexible in the case of emergency pest control call outs
