Description
We are currently looking for a Pest Control Officer to join our Environmental Health Team which is part of our Community Services division. You will be responsible for pest control within the Borough of Crawley so must be comfortable working independently, but where required you will also assist the wider Environmental Health team in the discharge of their duties in connection with pest control, for example overgrown premises affecting other residents.
It is essential that you have good communication and customer service skills to deal with the range of customers you will deal with daily, both internal and external. You will also be required to liaise as necessary with other statutory authorities in the co-ordination of Pest Control and to attend and sometimes host Liaison Pest Control meetings.
You will maintain the Pest Stores and workroom and be responsible for keeping adequate and suitable stocks of approved pesticides, properly stored and you will keep a stock account to maintain equipment used in the work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Council Safety Policy.
Previous experience and a relevant qualification or training in pest control and safe use of pesticides is essential such as the British Pest Control Association Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
You will have a current UK driving licence which is essential to perform the role, a work van will be provided for work use only. Satisfactory clearance of a Basic Disclosure and Barring Check (DBS) Check is a condition of employment
