AllPest Services has a vacancy for a full-time trainee pest control Bird Control and Proofing technician to help provide high quality pest control services to our portfolio of customers in the Central Belt of Scotland.

Applicants will be required to carry out duties and training aimed at completing qualification to RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management.
Appropriate training and experience will be provided. An aptitude for general DIY, building and joinery skills will be highly valued as an integral part of our approach to offering complete solutions through detailed pest-proofing/exclusion.

The successful applicant will ideally have a clean, full driving licence although it may be possible to support a candidate without this for a short duration provided a pass is achieved fairly soon after employment commences.
Good inter-personal and communication skills and good fitness levels are essential. They will ultimately need to be able to work unsupervised and exhibit a high level of responsibility, reliability and commitment.
The job requires hard work, self-motivation and an ability to organise and plan the workload together with a high degree of problem-solving.

Tasks/Abilities
As a Pest Control/Bird Control and Proofing trainee technician, your job will be to assist in the prevention and control of pest infestations, together with the installation of proofing works and bird repellent systems and to offer advice on how to prevent pest problems happening.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are needed together with a reasonable level of physical fitness.
A company vehicle will be provided (subject to driving licence) to enable you to work from home visiting people's homes as well as commercial outlets such as shops, restaurants, factories etc.
You will be required to:
- Inspect properties for signs of pests
- Dealing with call-outs for pests
- Install effective proofing systems/ bird repellent systems
- Investigate how the pests are gaining access
- Advise customers on how to prevent further infestation
- Complete written reports and update records via service management app
- Use and store pesticides in accordance with product labels and legislation
- Provide advice related to selling additional services and products where appropriate
- Use appropriate weapons such as air-guns to control certain pests
- Carry out routine inspections of premises
- Carry out treatments for other pests.
Working hours and conditions
- 40 hours per week as standard together with inclusion on our “out of hours” on-call rota
- Overtime is paid on additional hours above the standard 40 hours.
Depending upon the type of pest in question it may be necessary to crawl into confined spaces or climb ladders - all necessary PPE is provided.
All Pest Services are offering a competitive salary of £15,000 - £20,000 Salary - dependant on experience and progress towards full qualification.
