Lighting at work guidance from HSE

HEALTH AND SAFETY

Pest controllers often work in environments with poor lighting conditions. This guidance is designed to help manage the risks attributed to poor lighting.

The quicker and easier it is to see a hazard, the more easily it is avoided.

Lighting at work is very important to the health and safety of everyone using the workplace.

HSE have released a publication which offers guidance on:

  • Assessment and management of risks attributable to poor lighting
  • What constitutes good practice
  • The minimum recommended levels of lighting.
