This brings the total number of acquisitions completed this year to five, and 37 since Nurture came into being in 2008.

Ongoing growth

Nurture said:

“The deals, each for undisclosed sums, underpin the UK-wide landscaping and horticultural services group’s position at the pinnacle of its sector, with group revenue set to exceed £125m this year.

“Incorporation of the two businesses into Rokill is significant because it bolsters the group’s ambitions to create a national Rokill Pest Control brand”.

Alec McQuin, chairman of Rokill, said:

“Both of these companies are very successful and are absolutely the perfect match for Rokill.

“We are delighted for many reasons, not least because, together, they not only add extra capacity and skills in the Midlands and Northern region, but each business brings with it tremendously loyal clients in the commercial, domestic and public sectors.

“Importantly, with the extra geographic reach this now gives us, we have additional strength and capability in serving national businesses alongside those of our landscaping and horticultural offerings.”

Enserve’s founder and MD, Andrew Nicholson, said:

“We’re delighted to be welcomed into the Rokill and the Nurture Group and are excited about this new chapter.

“Nurture’s story of growth and market leadership in green services is an inspiration, and to be part of a national group is a fantastic milestone in our development as a pest control business which is proud of its relationship with prestige national clients as well as small and domestic services more locally throughout the Midlands.”

Ambitious plans

Alpha Pest Control in Stoke-on-Trent was founded in 1994 by Michael Flynn. Michael said:

“As a family-run company, our nearly thirty years in business could not have been marked more proudly than to become part of the UK’s preeminent landscaping and green services brand, and we are delighted.

“We look forward to continued success as part of a responsible and highly respected group.”

Nurture says the deals total a combined turnover figure worth in excess of £5 million.
