BPCA releases letter of endorsement templates to help essential workers get on site

BPCA has created two templates to help our members keep their employees working on critical sites during the Covid-19 pandemic.

BPCA letter templates for working during Covid 19 pandemic

Currently, people in the UK can continue to go to work if their work cannot be done from home.

During the pandemic, BPCA has advised that only essential work should take place (see our guide: Should I keep trading/go out on a job?).

These letter templates have been designed to:

  • Keep pest management professionals getting access to sites
  • Reassure employees that they have the full backing of their employer and their Trade Association.

BPCA letter of endorsement

This letter is designed to help a client, the general public and law enforcement understand the critical role a pest management company plays in protecting public health.

It explains that a technician is supporting government-defined key sectors such as:

  • Health and social care
  • Education and childcare
  • Key public services
  • Local and national Government
  • Food and necessary goods
  • Public safety
  • Transport
  • Utilities, communication and financial services.

The template is filled in and signed by the member company and issued to technicians.

Critical client letter of endorsement

This letter template is designed to give you access to your clients and their premises if further lockdown measures are announced, and only those supporting key workers or critical sectors can still work.

The template includes a letter to your client in a key sector and a response template for them to send back to you.

It also includes a section that asks if the name of your client can be added to a BPCA list of endorsements, aiming to support pest management professionals to be considered key workers.

If your client indicates that they will allow their name to be published, please tell us by emailing hello@bpca.org.uk

This document can be downloaded from the BPCA Member Area (login required).
