Global Pest Management Coalition Announces World Pest Day 2024 Celebration Global Solutions

PRESS RELEASE

The Global Pest Management Coalition (GPMC) is excited to announce the celebration of World Pest Day on 6 June 2024. Recognised as a global event since its inception in 2017, World Pest Day aims to raise awareness about the critical role of pest management in protecting public health, food safety, and the environment.

This year, World Pest Day will be highlighted during the Global Public Health & Food Safety Summit, which takes place from 4-6 June 2024 in Miami, Florida. The summit, presented by the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA), the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), and the Federation of Asian and Oceania Pest Managers Associations (FAOPMA), will feature dedicated programming to honour this significant day.

Goals of World Pest Day:

  • Increase public, government, and media awareness of the essential role pest management organisations play in safeguarding public health.
  • Project the professional image of the pest management industry.
  • Promote the use of professional pest management in a scientific and socially responsible manner.
  • Highlight the significant threats posed by small pests.

The theme for this year's World Pest Day is "Global Solutions, Local Impact: Mapping Success in Pest Management." This theme underscores the importance of both global collaboration and local action in achieving successful pest management outcomes.

To enhance the celebration, the GPMC will launch new content on the coalition website (pestmanagementcoalition.org). This platform will showcase case studies from member organizations, highlighting success stories and innovative solutions in pest management from around the world.

The GPMC serves as a centralized lead for World Pest Day, bringing together pest management organizations worldwide to promote best practices and raise awareness about the industry's impact on public health and safety. Through events like World Pest Day, the Coalition aims to foster a greater understanding and appreciation of the vital work performed by pest management professionals.

Join us this June to celebrate World Pest Day and contribute to the global dialogue on pest management's role in protecting our communities and environment.
