UPDATED: BPCA annual general meeting goes virtual

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, BPCA had to cancel the 2020 annual general meeting (AGM) that had been scheduled for 2 April.

bpca annual general meeting goes virtual

After seeking legal advice, we can now confirm we’ll be holding an all-digital, online AGM where eligible members will be able to vote and have their say on the future of the Association.

We can announce that the virtual AGM will take place on 27 August 2020.

Ian Andrew, BPCA Chief Exec, said:

“We’d already been researching hybrid AGM (where you mix a live event with a virtual event), so more members could get more involved in the decision making of the Association.

“While a digital-only event isn’t what we had planned, I suspect that we’ll still manage to engage more voting members than our usual 30-minute slot before a BPCA Forum.”

When?

Unfortunately, the BPCA AGM is going to be late, and the Association is going to miss the usual June deadline due to delays in sourcing the right software to support the voting element of the AGM.

We must ensure the voting element is carried out as robustly as possible ensuring only eligible members can vote and on a one member one vote basis.

Now that we have a date set, we will come out with the notification in the usual manner in due course.
