BPCA wins Magazine of the Year award at TAF 2026

AWARDS

BPCA picked up two accolades in London last night at the 2026 Trade Association Forum (TAF) Awards.

The team bagged top prize for Magazine of the Year, and received a highly commended certificate in the Diversity and Inclusion category.

Running for more than 20 years, the TAF Awards recognise, reward and promote best practice among trade associations in the UK.

BPCA was been shortlisted in five categories for the 2026 awards, taking home prizes for two of those.

Top prize: Magazine of the Year

PPC has been established for over 25 years and is the journal of the UK pest management industry.

Currently released three times a year, Professional Pest Controller (PPC) magazine reaches thousands of pest professionals across the UK and overseas.

PPC is entirely planned, edited and designed in-house by the BPCA team. Articles are a mixture of internal content and contributions from people across the industry, in the UK and around the world.

PPC magazine editor, Kathryn Shaw, commented:

"We're so proud that PPC magazine has been recognised by TAF as an outstanding publication. We're on our 122nd issue now, and a lot of work goes into making the magazine a useful CPD tool for pest management professionals. In fact, it's been voted our #1 CPD tool by members many times in the past.

"A huge thanks goes to all the volunteers, members and writers who have contributed to PPC magazine, plus our print partner Stirland Paterson.

"Honourable mention also goes to our now retired designer, Ken Davidson, who helped build the magazine into what it is today."

Highly commended: Diversity and Inclusion award

The team was also proud to be highly commended for our diversity and inclusion initiatives, including our pestcareers.org.uk website and careers video project.

The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee was formed by the Exec Board to tackle a variety of EDI issues, including recruitment.

As we all know, recruitment to the sector is a huge challenge and the EDI Committee wasted no time getting a number of projects off the ground.

From the EDI toolkit to the Armed Forces Convenant, the committee began to create the tools pest management companies needed to drive much needed recruitment.

But the Pest Careers project was the big winner - a national campaign comprising of a careers hub, campaign video and numerous resources to challenge industry stereotypes and appeal to people looking for a new career.

BPCA Chief Executive, Rosina Robson says:

“Equality, diversity and inclusion aren’t about box-ticking. They’re how we protect the future of our profession.

"We're proud of the work that our team and volunteers are doing in this space, and it's wonderful to be recognised for that with this highly commended certificate."
