The 7-a-side football tournament for teams made up of professionals within the pest control industry will help raise urgent funds for the Ukrainian Crisis Appeal organised by the British Red Cross.

Where: Tooting & Mitcham FC - Bishopsford Road, SM4 6BF

BBQ food will be available, with all proceeds from the day going to the appeal.

Football dreams and big schemes

The idea for the event came from David Pullinger at Beaver Pest Control.

"One evening I was at home, relaxing and watching the TV, and I saw the horrors of what’s going on in the Ukraine," said David.

"The pain and anguish on the faces of the courageous Ukrainian people who, through no fault of their own, are seeing their country ripped apart by the daily onslaught from the Russian army left me with a sense of guilt with me being here living a peaceful life and not being able to help.

"That evening I went to bed and had a dream about a charity football game between Beaver Pest control v another pest control company. I can’t remember who won but when I awoke it felt so real.

"The more I thought about it, the more it made sense; let's organise a friendly football tournament within the pest control industry and raise some urgent funds for the British Red Cross out in the Ukraine to help with the suffering."

He continued, "We would be absolutely delighted to be able to have your support for this event. As an industry we can make a difference. Join us on the day or support by donating to the Just Giving link.

There's only room for a maximum of 15 teams, so please contact David directly ASAP to guarantee your place in the tournament.
