PRESS RELEASE

Contego do away with fluorescent EFKs

Michael Taylor, CEO of Contego, said:

"We are delighted to announce that, from October 2021, Contego has decided to move exclusively to LED units.

"We'll support our existing customers with fluorescent tubes as they are phased out in the coming years.

"The move comes on the back of a successful trial of LED fly killers at our Head Office and several customer sites.

"Contego is committed to reducing our carbon footprint and making sustainable changes wherever possible.

We worked with our suppliers to develop a fully comparable range from a pricing and efficiency point of view.

"This latest move will see us help significantly reduce the our impact and the carbon emissions of our customers".

He continued:

"It's about making little changes. We looked at the results of making this change, and it makes a big impact on CO2 emission reduction.

"Saving the environment is a partnership."

Contego is committed to becoming Climate Positive by 2025. So far, they're:

  • Installing LED panel lighting in the office
  • Supporting forest carbon with tree planting for carbon offset
  • Introducing electric vans and cars to our fleet
  • Using recycled paper and printing on both sides of the page
  • Recycling old computer equipment
  • Installing motion sensor lighting in the office.
