PRESS RELEASE

Pest controllers in Scotland are being asked to record mosquito activity on a new website called mosquito-scotland.com.

ScientistsaskpestprofessionalstohelpfindmosquitoesinScotland

A collaborative project between the University of Glasgow, the MRC-UofG Centre for Virus Research (CVR), the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) – has established a surveillance project across the country, and has been collecting data on Scottish mosquitoes for a year.

The Mosquito Scotland project aims to identify mosquito populations across Scotland and determine whether they are affected by climate change.

If you see any this year, please visit the website to report it.
