Orkin said:

An experienced executive, Mr Dales has worked in the waste management industry and has outlined plans to develop and grow the UK subsidiary of US-based Rollins Inc.

He joins Orkin from his previous role as chief executive officer of the UK arm of international waste specialists Tradebe, where he drove impressive growth. Mr Dales said:

“Through a series of acquisitions the group of Orkin companies is now one of the top three pest control businesses in the UK, a fact that may surprise many industry observers.”

“The potential for growth through further acquisitions, the development of specialist divisions and better business integration is huge. I am confident the Orkin brand will soon be recognised as one of the leading pest control brands in the UK”.

Orkin’s UK business has grown significantly since the first acquisition of Safeguard Pest Control in 2016. Since that time, 11 additional companies have been added to the Orkin portfolio, the most significant of which was NBC Environmental in 2022, as well as Bird and Pest Solutions Ltd and Descale and Chlorination Services Ltd, both of which were added in 2024.

One of Mr Dale’s first priorities is to streamline the Orkin acquisitions into four business sectors. NBC Environmental will concentrate on industrial clients and bird control activities. Albany Environmental will take care of the hospitality sector within high-population areas, most notably London, Birmingham, and Manchester. Safeguard Pest Control will cover all other pest control customers nationally. Finally, Guardian Legionella Services will take care of the growing water hygiene and legionella activities.

Mr Dales added:

“As well as building our geographic coverage and strengthening our executive team, I will be ensuring we have a clear focus on customer satisfaction and employee relations, as both are essential to ensuring we deliver our growth objectives.”
