Orkin to attend Falconry Festival races

PRESS RELEASE

Birds of prey used within Orkin’s UK operations to support clients with bird deterrent programmes have been internationally recognised as some of the best.

So much so, they have been invited by event organisers, Saudi Falcons Club, to compete at the King Abdulaziz Falconry Festival held at its headquarters in Malham, north of Riyadh in Saudi Arabia in December this year.

This prestigious falconry event has become the world’s largest racing tournament of its kind showcasing the absolute best falcons and their trainers with attendances from hundreds of elite falconers and enthusiasts from around the world.

Besides some high-stake races to be had, falconers can carry on an ancient living heritage forward to future generations, applying age-old falconry techniques to new purposes and demonstrating where modern technology and this ancient practice excitingly meet.

Orkin will be attending and competing in races held at the festival and will be competing in this year’s new event where falcons chase and hunt a remote-controlled drone shaped like a bird.

The Orkin team are competing against five other teams from the 9 December until finals on 16 December 2022.
