Sponsored by BASF, the Sustainability Initiative of the Year award is open to any pest management firm or individual pest controller and aims to recognise the important role that stewardship and sustainability plays in the sector.

Judged by a panel of industry experts, entrants will be asked to demonstrate how they have reduced the environmental impact of their operations and consistently deliver best practice.

Entrants must also showcase how they have adopted innovative and sustainable solutions to the benefit of their business, key stakeholders and customers in the last 12 months.

The creation of the new category comes as part of BASF’s ongoing commitment to promoting good stewardship in the sector.

Speaking of the new Sustainability Initiative of the Year category, BASF’s Key Account Manager, Helen Hall said: “We’re delighted to have played a pivotal role in the creation of this important new category at the National Pest Awards, further strengthening our commitment to sustainability and stewardship in the sector, alongside our ongoing research and development, extensive training programmes, and support to pest professionals.

“The category will provide an opportunity to celebrate the pest controllers who are leading the way in the industry, as well as help raise awareness of the importance of sustainability and stewardship. We look forward to the ceremony and would like to wish the best of luck to all of those who have entered!”

The winners of the National Pest Awards 2022 will be announced at a gala awards ceremony and dinner taking place on Thursday 8 September.

A key event in the pest industry’s calendar, the annual awards aim to promote, reward and recognise excellence and good practice in British pest control.
