It is common for the BPCA to be asked questions about biocidal products that are not easy to answer. Questions like:

- Why has this changed?

- I used to be able to.....

- Why can't I use this for X?

- Why is it taking so long for this product to become available to us?

Issues like label changes and product withdrawals can cause pest controllers real problems in the field. The fact that the reasons behind these are not always immediately apparent can be frustrating.

This session is a whistlestop tour around the lifecycle of a biocidal product within the pest control industry. From the early stages of the development process, through developing a data pack and the assessment of these by the relevant authority, through to the outputs of this process and how it then effects the pest controllers who use it.

Jim Kirk - Deadline Products, Host.

Jim has 15 years experience in the pest control industry, working in product development and manufacturing. He has been a member of the BPCA's Manufacturers & Distributors Committee for the last 7 years, including serving as chairman for 2 of those years.

Dawn Kirby - Rentokil, Regulatory and Product Assessment Expert

Dawn has worked for Rentokil as the Pest Product regulatory lead for the last 25 years, and has a wealth of experience preparing product data packs and working with the relevant authorities to gain product approvals.

Alex Wade - Wade Environmental, Product Efficacy Testing Expert
