VIDEO: Tricky flea infestations - a planned approach

CPD VIDEO

Fleas are a familiar call-out for many technicians, but they are rarely straightforward. From delayed emergence in empty properties to repeat infestations that just will not settle down, flea jobs can quickly become time-consuming if the biology and behaviour are not fully understood.

In this technical webinar, Niall takes a deep dive into flea identification, biology and control, focusing on what really matters when you are surveying, treating and managing customer expectations in the field.

The session covers both the theory and the practical realities of flea work, with plenty of technician-focused insight drawn from real-world experience.

Together, the webinar explores:

  • Flea lifecycle and population structure, and why most of the problem is not what you can see
  • Identifying common UK flea species, including cat, dog and oriental rat fleas
  • Why delayed emergence causes problems in rental and vacant properties
  • Effective surveying and monitoring techniques when evidence is limited
  • Non-chemical and chemical control options, and how to plan treatment cycles properly
  • Managing treatment failure, resistance concerns and customer expectations
  • Practical advice you can pass on to pet owners to reduce reinfestation

All information is correct at the time of filming.

This video is designed for pest management technicians and counts towards BPCA Registered CPD.
