Upon completion of the one-day course, you will have learned:
- Understand the reasons for commensal rodent control
- Have gained a knowledge of commensal rodent biology and behaviour
- Understand the importance of risk assessment and surveys
- Understand the hierarchy of non-chemical and chemical control measures
- Understand what post-treatment activities need to be undertaken
- Understand the need for health, safety, legislation and record-keeping.
This is a one-day classroom course. 9.00am to 5.00pm.
As this is in a classroom environment, candidates will be encouraged to engage in discussions, share experiences and ask questions.
There will be regular breaks throughout the day, including lunch.
Slides from the training will NOT be available, so please ensure that you have pens and paper to enable you to take your own notes.
The examination for this qualification will follow upon completion of the training course.
The knowledge and understanding of the candidates will be assessed by a multiple-choice examination provided by RSPH. The examination will consist of 25 questions, and candidates must achieve a mark of at least 17 to achieve a pass grade.
The examination will be invigilated, and candidates must adhere to examination conditions.
Candidates will have 40 minutes to complete the examination.
