Overview

If you are responsible for planning, supervising or carrying out fly control work on waste sites, you will gain knowledge of flies associated with waste sites, their biology and impacts, what causes waste sites to have flies, how to monitor, control and prevent.

During the Pest Management at Waste Sites programme, you will learn:

1. Key pest species, biology, behaviour and impacts
2. The range of waste processing techniques, and the opportunities they create for flies.
3. Who should carry out fly control on waste sites?
4. Fly monitoring – benefits and techniques.
5. Non-chemical fly prevention techniques.
6. Insecticide approvals, legislation (COPR, BPR, COSHH) and labels.
7. Insecticides for fly control.
8. Insecticide resistance management.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a BPCA certificate of completion.

9.00am for coffee, 9.30am start, 4.30pm finish.
