AllPest Services has a vacancy for a full-time pest control Bird Control and Proofing technician to provide high quality pest control services to our portfolio of customers in the Central Belt of Scotland.

Applicants should ideally have a minimum of two years’ experience in pest control and be qualified to RSPH Level 2 in Pest Management. An aptitude for general DIY, building and joinery skills will be highly valued as an integral part of our approach to offering complete solutions through detailed pest-proofing/exclusion.
Talented candidates without the full qualifications should not be put off applying as full training is available for a person showing the required enthusiasm and aptitude for the role.
The successful applicant will require a clean, full driving licence, good inter-personal and communication skills and good fitness levels.
They will need to be able to work unsupervised and exhibit a high level of responsibility, reliability and commitment.
The job requires hard work, self-motivation and an ability to organise and plan the workload together with a high degree of problem-solving.

Tasks/Abilities
As a Bird Control and Proofing specialist, your job will be to eliminate pest infestations through the installation of proofing works and bird repellent systems and to offer advice on how to prevent pest problems happening.
Excellent communication and customer service skills are needed together with a reasonable level of physical fitness.
You will be required to:
- Inspect properties for signs of pests
- Deal with call-outs for pests
- Install effective proofing and bird repellent systems
- Investigate how pests are gaining access
- Advise customers on how to prevent further infestation
- Complete written reports and update records via service management app
- Use and store pesticides in accordance with product labels and legislation
- Provide advice related to selling additional services and products where appropriate
- Use appropriate weapons such as air-guns to control certain pests
- Carry out routine inspections of premises as well as treatments for other pests according to how the workload dictates.
Working hours and conditions
- 40 hours per week as standard together with inclusion on our “out of hours” on-call rota
- Overtime is paid on additional hours above the standard 40 hours.
Depending upon the type of pest in question it may be necessary to crawl into confined spaces or climb ladders - all necessary PPE is provided.
All Pest Services are offering a competitive salary of £21,000 - £28,000 - dependant on experience.
