Becoming pest ready: guidance for businesses reopening after Covid-19 lockdown

As businesses prepare to reopen following lockdown, BPCA has produced a guidance document to help them determine whether they are pest-free, compliant and ready to serve the public.

covid 19 pest ready guidance for clients

One of the biggest threats that many closed businesses will have to face is the possibility of a serious pest infestation, which may have established while their premises were left without any activity and unguarded from pests.

The guide goes through a step-by-step process to enable businesses to mitigate the potential risk of pest problems and is for any business that has been closed for a period of time due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

This, alongside support from a BPCA member company, is designed to give business owners the confidence to reopen once it’s safe to do so.

BPCA Chief Executive Ian Andrew, commented:

“Pests have thrived because of lockdown conditions, and all businesses need to prioritise checking for signs of infestation when they return to work.

“The risks associated with public health pests going unchecked in a business could have a disastrous effect on your staff and client’s health if you don’t take pest management seriously.

“With this free guide and the help of a trusted pest management company you can put a pest plan together to reopen your business pest-free”.

The guidance is available to download for both members and non-members, below.
