Orkin UK expands legionella division with acquisition of DCS

PRESS RELEASE

Guardian Legionella Services has bought Descale and Chlorination Services Ltd (DCS) in a move that strengthens the legionella division of Orkin UK.

The deal, for an undisclosed sum, is the first completed by Guardian Legionella Services and sees the DCS team join the Lincoln-based division of Orkin UK.

Established in 1998, Derby-based DCS carries out water monitoring, sampling, cleaning, and disinfection services as well as plumbing remedial works throughout the UK.

Guardian’s managing director of Katie Ward said: “The DCS team has an impressive skillset and client base and this deal represents a great opportunity for both companies to learn from each other as well as providing an enhanced range of services to our clients.

“In the coming months I will be working closely with DCS directors, Dan and Steve Gregory and their team, investing time and resources to bring the companies together.”

The deal follows Orkin UK’s acquisition of Kent-based Bird & Pest Solutions Limited (BPS) in May of this year.

Commenting on the expansion, Orkin UK Services managing director, Kristian Dales said: “The DCS deal is the first completed by our legionella division and is yet another acquisition which strengthens our position as a leading UK service provider of pest, bird and legionella services.

“As we continue to pursue our ambitious growth strategy I am confident we will be announcing more acquisitions in the months ahead.”

Since 2016, Orkin UK Services has been expanding its reach and expertise through strategic acquisitions across the UK. With Orkin UK Service’s principal business divisions being Albany Pest Control, Guardian Legionella Services, NBC Environment and Safeguard Pest Control, the Group offers comprehensive pest, bird and legionella services across the country.
