PRESS RELEASE

US-based Rollins Inc, best known for its subsidiary pest control brand, Orkin, has once again expanded its presence in the UK with the acquisition of Pestproof Ltd, based in Failsworth, Manchester.

Pestproof was established in 1993 by Steve Ivell and David Harrison. The company offers a full range of pest and bird control services, in addition to specialist cleaning and washroom hygiene services.

Commenting on the sale, Steve Ivell said: “We had been talking to Rollins for some time, as it is always a difficult decision to make when you get to a crossroads in life.

"Having had numerous discussions with the Rollins team, we came to appreciate the numerous synergies between the two companies. So, it was a really simple decision to decide to sell to them.

"I know they will continue to invest in the business and allow it to continue to grow, whilst also supporting all our key employees and customers.”

Caspar Appeldoorn, managing director of Orkin International for Europe and the Middle East stated: "The acquisition of Pestproof extends our coverage into the North West of England.

"I could see the opportunities to help support and grow this business as it shares the same high standards and core values. Everyone at Orkin is looking forward to working with Pestproof and developing the business.”

I know they will continue to invest in the business and allow it to continue to grow, whilst also supporting all our key employees and customers.

PestProof is just the latest addition to the growing number of Orkin companies in the UK.

This began with the acquisition of Safeguard Pest Control in 2016.

Since then the AMES Group, Kestrel Pest Control, Enviropest, Baroque Pest Services, the Guardian Group, Albany Environmental, Van Vynck Environmental, IPM, NBC Environment and Europest have all been added to the Safeguard/Orkin family of businesses.
