And the first CEPA Certified operator is...

...the German Pest Control Provider named Treuer GmbH. After the CEPA Certification system was launched in March 2015, Treuer has been quick to implement the EN 16636 standard and is now the first operator officially certified according to the CEPA Certified Protocol.

The certification audit was conducted by DQS, a CEPA-endorsed Certification Body also operating in the UK. Dr. Thijs Willaert, who coordinates the EN 16636 certification at DQS CFS, was happy to see the first certification audit going so well: "Treuer GmbH reacted very quickly to the publication of the standard, helped by the fact that many of their processes were already in conformity with the standard before it was even published. They can be proud of what they have achieved."

On behalf of Treuer GmbH, the owner Rüdiger Treuer commented: "Obtaining this certificate was particularly important for us because many of our clients are themselves certified according to the BRC and IFS standards - they understand and appreciate the value of certification. Obviously the preparation for the audit required some effort, but we regard every audit as an opportunity to discover potential for improvement and to fine tune things even further."

Treuer GmbH is a member of DSV, the German Pest Control Association and provides pest control services for amongst others the food industry, the hospitality sector, the pharmaceutical industry, public facilities and hospitals.

BPCA Chief Executive Simon Forrester said of the award "Our congratulations to Treuer - now it remains to be seen who will be the first in the UK to be assessed against the CEPA Standard"
