BPCA publishes new Code of Conduct for 2022

MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA

BPCA has published an updated version of our Code of Conduct which will come into effect on 1 January 2022.

BPCA Code of Conduct new for 2022

The updated Code of Conduct is a single page of rules that all BPCA members and employees must follow as part of their membership criteria.

The 2022 version was created by the newly formed BPCA Professional Standards Committee, which consists of BPCA member company representatives.

WHY CHANGE IT?

BPCA Chief Exec, Ian Andrew said:

“Do you know what’s written in the current Code of Conduct?

“I doubt it!

“The Code of Conduct is one of the most crucial documents an association of professional companies can have, yet the previous version was a little long and not particularly memorable.

The Professional Standards Committee has worked very hard to distil the spirit of what it is to be a BPCA member into a single page document.

“We’d love to see you pop up a copy of the Code in your offices, vans or even your clients’ site folders”.

WHAT’S IN THE CODE?

The Code contains four requirements that all BPCA members must follow:

  • Be professional
  • Promote the Association
  • Consider people and the environment
  • Act within the Codes of Best Practice.

The more eagle-eyed readers will see that the first letter of each line makes up B.P.C.A.

Hopefully, this will make it even easier to remember!

CODES MEAN CONSEQUENCES

The Code ensures all members are committed to the highest professional standards and serves to reassure your clients they’re in safe hands when they choose a member.

Remember, if a member is found to have fallen short of the Code’s requirements, they will be thoroughly investigated in line with BPCA’s complaints procedure.
