Guidance for the BPCA member awards submissions 

All the BPCA Member Awards are nominated by the BPCA Exec Board and Committees. 

Awards are given out at the BPCA Annual General Meeting.

BPCA LIFE MEMBER

Life Membership is the highest award available to recognise the exceptional contribution of individuals to the Association and the pest management industry. It is therefore only to be awarded in exceptional circumstances.

Who can be nominated?

Life Membership is awarded to an individual (who can be either a Member or a Non-Member). To be considered for Life Membership, an individual should have demonstrated significant, sustained and high-quality service, enhancing the reputation of the Association or wider industry.

How is it awarded?

Nominations are considered and awarded by the BPCA Executive Board.

Guidance for entry and criteria

Judges will take the below into account, so you should ensure this is adequately covered in the nomination:

  • Length of service to the Association (eg on Committees), reflecting favourably on the development of the Association
  • Substantial contribution to public health pest control
  • General attitude and overall demeanour of the nominee to ensure it marries with the Association's profile.

BPCA SPECIAL CONTRIBUTION AWARD

This award is designed to recognise a significant and outstanding contribution to the Association in 2022, exceeding what might normally be expected from members.

This may be based on a single but very important action or a continuing series of actions that have impacted others.

Who can be nominated?

Any member of the BPCA Executive Board, BPCA Committees, Special Interest Groups, Working Groups or another volunteer.

How is it awarded?

BPCA's Senior Management Team will judge this award following nominations received from BPCA Members.

Guidance for entry and criteria

  • Details on who you are nominating and a brief background on their role
  • Details on how their actions have made a significant contribution to the work of the Association

BPCA CHARLES KEEBLE AWARD

The award is named after Charles Keeble, a former director of BPCA and CEPA.

Charles founded the BPCA Training and Certification Scheme, which forms the basis on which the UK's pest control training was built.

Who gets this award?

This award will be presented to the person who fulfils the following criteria:

Nominees must have achieved the highest score in the BPCA Certificated Advanced Technician (CAT) accreditation for the previous year

Nominee must have achieved the high score without prior higher level qualifications

Nominees must receive a glowing report from their own management

How is it awarded?

This award will be based on merit and will be awarded by the BPCA team. Employers will be contacted if their candidate is eligible for the award so we can seek a reference.

BPCA PHILIP HALPIN AWARD

BPCA Registered gives unparalleled flexibility for recording CPD activities. This award is designed to acknowledge an outstanding portfolio of CPD activities that highlight the importance of CPD in our industry.

Who gets this award?

This will be awarded to an individual who has demonstrated the best use of and range of CPD activities to advance their knowledge and skills, demonstrating a commitment to CPD.

How is it awarded?

This award is nominated by the BPCA Registered team based on an analysis of BPCA Registered CPD diaries.

BPCA HONOUREE EDITOR AWARD

This award is judged by PPC editors based on editorial contributions and commitment to sharing knowledge.

Who gets this award?

This award will normally be presented to a contributor to PPC magazine that has gone above and beyond to provide interesting and educational content for the pest management community.

How is it awarded?

This award is nominated by the editors of PPC magazine based on feedback from readers and support to the BPCA team.

BPCA COMMITMENT TO TRAINING AWARD

This award is designed to recognise a BPCA member who has demonstrated a commitment to upskilling their employees through BPCA.

Who can be nominated?

A highly professional individual or member company is incredibly committed to training, development and continual learning.

How is it awarded?

This will be awarded by the BPCA Senior Management Team and nominated by the BPCA Training department.
