Management of waste is an important part of pest control and each company has a duty to dispose of it in accordance with legal requirements.
In this webinar, Natalie Bungay and Dee Ward-Thompson look at different types of waste, methods of disposal and legislation around hazardous waste.

Each organisation is responsible for managing their own waste and disposing of it in line with the local legislation (England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland).
The definition of “waste” is any substance or object which the holder discards, or intends to, or is required to discard. Typical types of waste that a pest management company may produce are:
- Hazardous (not exhaustive)– pesticides (including contaminated PPE or packaging), aerosols and UV tubes
- Non-hazardous (with zero pesticide contamination)– outer packaging, PPE, plastics, cardboards, tools, miscellaneous equipment, paper, overalls, etc
- Rodent carcasses – considered non-hazardous (in waste terms) regardless of the cause of death (rodenticide, trapping, etc).
This presentation will examine the duty of care an organisation has with regards to disposal of waste based on good practice.
Questions can be asked using the Q&A function and will be answered by the host throughout the live webinar.
