BPCA Ops Manager Lorraine Norton said:

“We've developed a candidate pack for potential interviewees showcasing the award-winning work BPCA has done regarding lobbying, membership engagement, and public relations.

“We aim to attract candidates who can support the strong position BPCA is in and take the organisation even further”.

Who picks the next BPCA Chief Executive?

Lorraine continued:

“BPCA is owned and run by its members, which is why member volunteers will appoint the new CEO.

“The Executive Board has delegated the interview process to a recruitment panel of five out of eleven Board members.

“Once they have a preferred candidate(s) in mind, they will meet the rest of the Board, who will make the final decision together”.

Any member can get involved with the interview process by submitting a question for the candidates. Lorraine said:

“We're going to be posing many questions to potential candidates, and while we already have some in mind, we're open to suggestions!

“If there's anything you think we can ask interviewees, send us an email to hello@bpca.org.uk by Wednesday, 5 February 2025, and the recruitment panel will consider all suggestions.

“Our aim is for the Exec Board to be able to make an appointment offer during their next Board meeting on 4 March, and while it's not guaranteed, we hope the new CEO will be able to join us at PPC Live in Harrogate on 19 March, to informally meet you all before officially starting in their role”.

Applications and job description

Applications will be taken via an agency that specialises in CEO recruitment, so we know that we're going to get a great raft of candidates.

We hope to see strong applications from inside and outside the industry with the relevant experience to lead a busy, high-performing Trade Association.
