Contego launches charity fundraising pledge

BPCA member Contego continues long-standing tradition of charitable giving back with launch of its 'Pledge to Make a Difference'.

Contego got off the ground in 2004, following funding support from the Prince's Trust charity.

Since then, CEO Michael Taylor and his colleagues have taken part in numerous fundraising efforts, living the values of giving back and community support, which are embedded into the organisation.

The new Pledge to Make a Difference goes one step further.

Each year Contego will ask each of its staff to nominate a charity that is close to their heart. They will pick a number of charities annually from those nominated and will be supporting them across the year.

Contego will be documenting each team member's progress towards their personal target and offering to match fundraising efforts up to £1,000 per charity selected.

This will be supported by fundraising activities across the business and from pledging 5% of Contego profits to those chosen charities.

Michael spoke of his team's charitable efforts and the new pledge, saying:

"At Contego we have always tried to make sure we do our bit for charity, supporting a range of causes including the 'CEO Sleepout' and Cancer Research UK among others. Now is the time to make it bigger and better than ever before; to raise our game, make it count and make an impact.

"It's why we're different. We're proud to make this pledge, which is going to be inclusive, exciting and passionate. It's a pledge to make a difference in local communities right across the country, for charities big and small that have touched the heart of our team; our Contego family."
