Rentokil buys pest control division of Green Compliance for £4m

Rentokil Initial is to buy the pest control division of Green Compliance. Rentokil is paying a total of £4m in cash for the company, comprising £3.25m in an initial consideration and a further £0.75m payable over 12 months. Phill Wood, Area Managing Director, Rentokil Initial: "We are really excited about this acquisition, as Green Compliance Pest Control complements the existing Rentokil pest control business. We look forward to working with our new colleagues and our number one priority will be ensuring continuity of service for the customers." The acquired business, which provides pest and bird control, flyscreen and cleaning services, generated revenues of £5m in the year ended 31 March.

The transaction, expected to be completed by the end of 2013, will see Green Compliance return cash to shareholders and partially pay down debt next year. This follows a review by the AIM company to focus efforts on its most profitable and cash generative divisions.

"The board are committed to the continued growth of its market leading Water and Fire Suppression businesses and believe that they will provide a sustainable base for the future development of the group," Green Compliance said.
