Speed baiting training from BASF a hit

PRESS RELEASE

The launch of the new BASF rodenticide Selontra has seen over 800 pest controllers pass an online training course to use the product.

“As part of the product launch, we set up a training portal on the BASF Real Results Farm. We were blown away with the interest, and to have such high numbers already qualified to use the product is a measure of how important a new active is to tackling rodents in the UK,” says Helen Ainsworth, BASF Key Account Manager, UK, Professional & Specialty Solutions.

Selontra is the only Cholecalciferol bait currently available in the UK. It is a highly palatable formulation that offers pest controllers a new active for which there is no known resistance.

“Cholecalciferol is a resistance breaking active that causes the rodent to stop feeding, which makes it perfect for areas where there is a higher risk of contamination, spoilage or damage,” explains Helen.

BASF says that Selontra can control even large infestations in just seven days by a new speed baiting technique. “Speed baiting is taught as part of a new online learning accreditation that BASF has launched on its digital portal, the Real Results Farm,” says Helen.

The accreditation has been completed by over 800 pest controllers who have shown their commitment to continuing professional development.

“Pest controllers want to save time and money and Selontra offers the potential to control even the most difficult infestations in just two visits over seven days,” she adds.

Social media has been lighting up with pest controllers proudly posting their accreditations. Neil Sharp from Harvey Environmental says: “The online training was easy to access and was very informative. It’s a fantastic idea to provide this prior to use as the information given is key to gaining control of an infestation quickly,” commented Neil Sharp from Harvey Environmental.
