This one-day course would suit anyone who is looking to move into a Field Biologist position or is already undertaking the role and wishes to refresh their existing knowledge.

We offer this course as a hybrid training course which means you can either:

  • Attend a classroom course at our BPCA Academy in Yarnfield, Staffordshire
  • Join the training remotely from your home or office.

Attending this course will provide you with an understanding of what a Field Biologist does and what is needed to take the Certificated Field Biologist exam.

To be a Certificated Field Biologist, you will need to be a Pest Technician or Technical Inspector with at least 2 year's experience, have passed the Level 2 in Pest Management and completed the Advanced Technical in Pest Management or Certificated Advanced Technician programme.

Delivery

Classroom Delivery

This training is offered as a hybrid training course, giving you the choice to either:

  • Attend in person at our BPCA Academy in Yarnfield, Staffordshire
  • Attend remotely via a Zoom link.

The course runs from 9.00am to 4.30pm and will use a mix of presentations and interactive sessions.

Learners who attend the training at the BPCA Academy will be provided with lunch and refreshments as part of the course cost. Learners who attend remotely will be given the same breaks but will need to provide their own refreshments.

Learners who attend remotely will be provided with a link and instructions on how to join the training. To take part remotely you will need:

  • A computer, laptop or tablet
  • An internet connection.

Smartphones will also work, however the session is not optimised for very small screens. For those attending remotely, you will need to have your camera and microphone activated during the training course.

All learners will have access to the course tutor for any questions or enquiries during the training.

Upon completion of this course, you will receive a BPCA certificate of completion.

After this programme, you may choose to take the Certificated Field Biologist exam.
